I use a variety of sites online.
On one of them, I recently tried a bit of an expiriment.
I've always hidden my friends list, on my page. Therefore, no one has ever actually known how many friends I have.
But, for one week, I set my friends list and friend count back to display.
Normally, I get approximately 100 to 150 pages of messages per day. But in the week that I put my friends on display, I received approximately 180 to 230 pages.
I don't think it's a coincidence; I think the two correspond. But I'm curious: Why would being able to see how many friends I have, make someone more eager to get to know me?
Shouldn't they be more concerned with ME, than with my friends?

Popularity is put on the page, right where everyone can see it. There's no way to hide it.
But I don't get it. Why the hell should that make a difference; how many friends someone has?
