Answer=D. (1643 in Dedham in the Mass Bay Colony which was originally a Puritan colony).

Rationalle:
A = would have to go to Henry Ford
B = most of our food were imported from other places. Little indigineous food is from the US
C= They were of the 'do as i do' philosophy. Heck, they kicked out Roger Williams, Anne Hutchinson, & who knows how ever many b/c they didn't comform to the Puritan majority ideals & values.

That's why the Puritans came to the USA - freedom to worship as they wanted (although they didn't always extend that courtesy to others.)

All those innovations were begun in various parts of Europe well before the Puritans landed and profaned the shores of the North American continent...
