It has EVERYTHING you're looking for - why the iPod was invented, when it was invented, who the team was for the first iPod.
The impact would be something like iPods are seen everywhere - just about everyone has them, and it's cool to have them. Some people buy them just to look cool.
Also, it means that we don't need to carry around those big clunky CD players anymore. And that instead of buying a CD with 20 songs that we may/may not like, we can just buy one song for $0.99.
