Hi,I've got like a month to study for my finals and i really want to do well this time. I'm an average sudent but i know with a lil' effort i can do better,so i need a few tips. So far ive had a week off and ive not actually got down to studying as such. I have to study from home so its kind of distracting a lot. I cant go to college(which is quite far) and moreover it will be closed and nobody will be allowed. I don't know any local library as such where i can go and study. So far ive noticed that im distracted by the following things:
1. TELEVISION
2. CoMpUtER
3. Talking to mom
4. Really, Dirty room
5. UNECESSARY, Distracted trail of thoughts
6. Absolute loss of interest etc.
Ok, ill keep filling in if required.PLEASE help me overcome these. Thanks in advance.

The very first thing that you require is the will to
study.Put aside all thoughts of diversions coming your way and get down to some serious study.I mean you have to spare quality time to your books and notes.Every hour on the hour, read a novel or some humorous
anecdotes. This will relieve the stress and
refresh you for the next bout with your lessons.
A little distraction has a salutary effect rather than put you off completely.Meet with some of
your brighter classmates and exchange notes about lessons covered, clear doubts and plan
strategies as to how to tackle a paper.
I could keep filling pages of advise but in the ultimate analysis the whole thing depends on you.You have to will yourself to study and more importantly will yourself to score good grades. There is no formula for success except the one you propound yourself. So,get a grip on yourself and keep repeating that you are going to secure A levels. You will end up with at least B+grades.Good Luck.

hi,
try these -
firstly have confidence, positive thinking and believe in urself.........concentration is the key to studies .........for tht b4 studying close ur eyes for 5min and observe ur breathing ......this help a lot !!! next, study in a different place....anywhere other than ur room , computer n tv r distractions but only YOU can overcome it.......u should only get motivated and control the temptation.....also limit these like only for 15min or half an hr per day.......and not more thn tht. .......1 imp step is to make a time table
like and follow it........like no. of pages to study and no. of days left....as much a s possible have a regular timings for food ,sleep and other activities......hv a 'To do list'........dont just read but practise in writing........to study thouroghly follow these - 1. Read 2. Write 3.Revise....
solve question papers......wishing you good luck....

This problem is psychological. There is a conflict between your will power and your interests. These are going in two different directions. I have recently read a book of Dr. Adler. He has written this book around 100 years ago. In that book he pointed out that we should not suppress our different interests with our will power. If you want to watch the TV, computer etc. Do it. you only need to reduce the time you spend on it. Make a compromise between your will power and your interests.
All wishes.

Simple. It all depends on the interest.
Just a simple formula, Each of your distractions would have interest ratio/ interest level. Each of these distractions has interest level greater than "Studies". I won't say to reduce the interest level of any of those distractions rather I would love to say "Raise the interest for studies". You can make your studies more interesting by your imagination. I would suggest always to use the word "Learning" instead of "Studying" because that gives enthusiasm :)

turn off your computer for one, shut it down, unplug it, etc. try to get your mom or someone else at your house to watch tv all the time so you cant watch your shows. or just have them do something in there so you cant watch the tv. find a way to make studying fun, so you are interested. play a game, like jeopardy, with the words you have to know. get someone to play with you so it's more fun. i'm also a big procrastinator with a very messy room so i know how you feel. these things usually work. maybe you could also write out bullet notes of the very important things you have to know, or make flashcards

You are already in the right direction. Good that you realise your distractions.

Having said that, I would advice you to make just one change in your routine...

Get up early in the morning around 4 AM. Pray, breathe deeply or meditate for at least 5 minutes and start your studies. Tell yourself that you can - and you will find that you really can.

Good luck.

Tips? We'll why not smile at her and say hi.. start with the basics. Don't act like a jerk and be Macho, girls hate that. Just be yourself, If she doesn't like you then move on. Plenty of fish in the sea. Hope this helps, Cheers,
