U of Miami DE?

Question

There was a stud DE for U of Miami in the late 80'. Rusty Mederis (sp?). He was really good but injured his knee and was never the same. Anyone hear about him? What happened in his life since?

I remember that guy - he was one of my favorite Canes because he seemed to go all-out on every single play. Wasn't the most talented guy, but you'd never know it from the way he played.

I read somewhere that he was living back in Springfield, Missouri, but not working in the football profession.
