Depends on the school district. In some poorer areas there may be as many as 30 or so. Generally, about 15-20, with a Teachers' Aide, is about right,no more than 12 if there is not a second adult in the room.

Most classes in public schools are about 20 kids in Kindergarten, especially considering that they have both AM and PM classes. Private schools are usually smaller (15 or so kids), and can occasionally reach 25-even 30 kids. I think 20 is about ideal, although 15 has more one-on-one attention.

A kindergarten teacher should be able to work with from 1 to 6 children. But why don't you go to one and ask??

That depends on the school district. We have 28 in our kindergarten. Our all day Kindergarten is limited to 20.

I think that 20 is a good number.

Depends on the city the school district and a lot of other factors. Are they learning by computer? Is many grades together? Some small schools in this rural area they learn by computer and several grades are in one class which can still only be maybe ten children.

the normal class is 20 children.

however it should be 13-15 because 20 4-5 year olds is a bit much for only 1 teacher!

It all depends on where you are. I had about 25 kids in my class. (I am a 32 year old techer now!)

At the school I teach at, there are only 8. So as the saying goes,
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

If you are in a big city, ie: New York City, Miami, S.F., Detroit, Dallas, there will most likely be larger classes.

My advice is to inquire at the school districts you are looking at. Best of luck.

12-20 is the average Nationwide in the U.S. Ideal is 10 or less per teacher. 20 is O.K., if there are two teachers.
