but to further their political agendas?
They constantly pit the wealthy against the not-so-wealthy and poor, men against women, black against whites. They badmouth the formers while pandering to the latters.
Why is this? Why do they feel the need to pit Americans against Americans?

Typo on my part. I meant to say "whites against blacks".

Because they lack important things like honesty, interity, truth, honor, duty, respect, and self-less service; all factors which cause them to LOOSE votes.

The only way for them to gain votes is by lying and fear tactics... "You are poor because Republicans want you to be poor; Republicans are racists, King Bush-hitler is going to declare Martial Law, etc." If you are uneducated in political matters, which most people are, these tend to be very cooercive.

Why do Republicans play Class Warfare and craft policies that consistently favor the rich? Those who point this out are just reporting the news.

Why do Republicans pit "good" Americans (Christian Conservatives, favored) against "bad" Americans (secular Liberals derided as being morally depraved)?

Sorry, which party is it that's usually the first to trot out the Ten Commandments in public buildings, banning gay marriage or stem cell research in order to distract the public from other issues where they don't look so good (like a failing and unjustified war in Iraq, or a skyrocketing national debt)?

Nothing like a sexy wedge issue to get the people REALLY excited, huh?

as a registered Democrat, a liberal and a homosexual, i am not pitting myself (and all gays) against heterosexuals. my partner and I just want to be able to file our taxes jointly. we don't think it should be legal to be fired from a job simply because we are gay. we don't tolerate the terror of random acts of violence violating us merely because we are gay.

my political agenda is so that our kids (mine and yours) don't have to fight these same battles.

that's called progress. and it's the natural progression of human history to rectify important moral, social and cultural injustices for the next generation.

now, we can talk about why you feel the need to resist my equal treatment under the law.

i'm only claiming that which should be mine in the first place: under our laws, under our culture of freedom and personal choice.

your inability to provide equal treatment to all citizens - all human beings - from the tone of your question -

is the real issue.

and if you feel the need to cling to your beliefs - AT THE EXPENSE OF MY EQUAL TREATMENT under the law

that's the warfare. I'm engaged.

and the history of human development (whether it's in progress for the working poor, women, different races, different religions, or gays) has shown

that my side will always be the winner.

and your side is always an embarrassment to your children.

evolve or die.

Is the same tactic Republicans use against Christians and "unbelievers". Democrats and Republicans are the same, they're politicians looking to boost their numbers.

Its the Republicans that do it.They favour the rich against the poor, race bait in coded language, attack opponents as unpatriotic and want to impose their religion on others. You got it all wrong, it's just the opposite. Some Democrats, however are too weak on these issues, like Hilary

because they can not get elected off there beliefs since they change from speech to speech. They want to say you can't do it on your own. They need top take a look at Chris Gardner, the man the pursuit of happyness is about. They want whats best for them, not whats best for the country.

sounds to me to be like what republicans do

they use scare tactics to get votes (wmd's wmd's)
while forgetting about Osama.
G.W. Bush, 3/13/02: I don't know where Bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority

forgetting about securing the borders
forgetting about inspecting inbound frieght
(trying to sell our ports to highest bidder)

they call people that are opposed to this war of aggression not patriotic
then they rat out agents that were fighting war on terror and claim they weren't covert---President involved!!

they involve the BIG DRUG COMPANIES in their policy making at HUGE COSTS TO UNINSURED AMERICANS

Because dividing the country by picking on the gays, choice, guns and religion has already been done.
