i don;t think i have a disorder, but recently i've been noticing something about myself more and more.
i am a young girl of 20 years old, and i am in love with world culture, languages, religions. i have found an interest in the afghan culture. i want to date afgan men, i am quick at learning the language, i even sometimes wear a scarf. this is a very short version to my story, but in essence, i feel as if i can ssociatae with their cultrue, i feel like an afghan even. if you need more info, ask me to pst another question. just tell me why i am behaving like this. i am pretty normal according to societal standards, but this is my secret inside world.

You're just having fun learning about other cultures. I assume you're in college and are around a diverse group of people? My college has people from EVERY point of the globe and it always cool to talk with somebody of a different culture.

I don't think you have a disorder, it seems like you find Afghan men attractive and because of this you have read up on there culture and like what you read.. or want to involve yourself more in their culture in order to get closer to the Afghan men perhaps.

I don't think it's a disorder. Everyone had a "secret obsession". Mine just so happens to be a godlike angel at my school. I'm fascinated by him. I can't get him out of my head. For the first time in my life, I'm willing to give anything up for him. I'm willing to look past his bad traits and habits for him. The thing is, I haven't even talked to him. I feel as though I love him. The feeling I get from him is...just so incredible. I get the feeling we're eventually meant to be. But right now he has a girlfriend...
But, you're just probably highly intrigued by the culture. Everyone has their 'element'. Just go with it.

Disorders by definition have to disrupt the normal flow of life.
Can you walk past a book on Afghanistan and not buy it? Can you walk by and not look at it since you have something else to do?
Your actions have to disrupt you from doing things normal people would. Not seeing such things, you're normal, just obsessed. Have fun with it!

i dont think its a disorder, just an obsession, like addicted to chatting.
however, you should look both sides of afghan culture. and have a comprehensive idea.

Yours is an accepted oddity. If 300,000 people (not several million, as that would then dictate normalcy) felt the same way, some genius would put it down in the books as a disorder.

what is it about the afghan culture that appeals to you?
From what I know, its an extremely oppressive culture for women to survive in. Does THAT say something about you?
