The correct translation of "thou shalt not kill" is "you must do no murder." Obviously there is a difference between killing and murder.
The same God that commanded "You must do no murder" also prescribed the death penalty in certain cases.
If you are going to quote the Bible as moral authority, it would be good to study it first. It's not simple, and people come to very different conclusions about what to do, after reading it. There are Biblical pacifists, as well as Biblical advocates of war and the death penalty under certain conditions.

Hmmm, good question, but you left out the worse offense our government commits, and that is against the UNBORN. Somehow that is NOT a MASSIVE double standard???? The count of the DEAD is pushing 45 million+. I think that is a FAR worse atrocity!
BTW, you live in a FREE country , FREE to come and go as you please, FREE to speak as you please, THANK A SOLDIER!!!! ALL of them did that for you....

Just which government would you be talking about? As far as I know, all governments outlaw murder and as far as I know all governments fight wars.
Turning the other cheek doesn't work very well at the international level.

"thou shalt not kill" UNLESS it is to defend your honour and loved ones.
Killing in cold blood as in a premeditated murder is what the commandment is referring to.
AND can I just add, Muslims don't do the commandments, so what should we do, sit back let them kill us and say "its ok, murder us all, Moses has spoken"
Do we fcukery. We fight an eye for an eye. AS IT SAYS in the bible.
We in the WEST have never quoted religious scripture in this conflict. Only our Enemy uses religion as its weapon.

...and they call themselves "Christians."
It hasn't escaped everyone's attention. I have wondered the same thing. They just use Christianity as a mask so that the Christian population will follow them. It's like the wolf in sheep's clothing.

I think it's misplaced loyalty that they have.
Loyal to their country rather than the simple truths.
