It is a time to give thanks for all that you have as such loved ones and friends to get together and share a blessed meal and appreciate all the hard work that every one has done to get our civilization this far to show that different cultures can get along and to recognize the pilgrims and the Indians for showing all of us how to do this way back .

4th Thursday in November annually. Thanking God for surviving in Virginia. In even greater thanks they wiped out the indigenous native Americans that helped them survive, after they gained independence. The Brits had a law to prevent expansion westwards which was rescinded.

Thanks giving is the American version of Harvest festival in the UK where people meet in church for service and give thanks to god for his provisions. In return a small selection of fruit and vegetable and wheat are offered to him. In America some neighbours gather together in a hall to settle their indifference, have a party and gobble turkey.
