in class we are reading, whenever the book says "n*ger" my teacher says "blank" ex. "Calpurnia says thats blank talk" but when she allowes the tape to play, she does not mind that it says n*ger. now i have to rite a journal about the authors style, do you think it would be approiate if i wrote about the authors choice of language. ??

If you are writing about the author's choice of language then by all means you would have to make every effort to prove authenticity in the fact the language in itself is a historical factor in the book. Use of the particular word in modern language is inappropriate and considered an affront to achievements we as a society have made in cultural melding. As a writer it would be acceptable for you to use the word as you are not projecting it from your own personal view but in the context of your writing.

No you should not criticize the language, it was appropriate for the time period and the intent and theme of the book.

Respectfully if you do use any form of the N word in a review if it is significant to your content then use the original language, Not salaciously, not with malice or an intent to make the word the important theme of the book.
