My best friend is gay and he has only even came out to me. However all these guys from school always come up to him and start hugging him or trying to touch him in places. He is not a 'camp' gay and as he is in he closet he acts quite straight. But these guys always find it really funny to all pounce on him and push him on the floor and just sexually harrass him basically. He feels uncomfortable when they do it and everyone just stands and laughs. I always try to help but i just get pushed away. They find it funny yet if my friend stops struggling or hugs them back they'll be really immature and be like 'get off me gay boy, we're only joking.'
Can they tell if he is gay? I did have a suspicion that he was but that was only because he acted his true self around me. He is not obviously gay. Also why do guys do that? Do they think it's is funny or something?
They are fine when they are messing around with him but if he came out the closet i bet they would just be ignorant homophobes.

I feel really bad for you friend. Trust that things get better after high school, when a lot of those jerks that harass him now will start to show signs of maturity.

As far as your question about straight guys being able to pick out gays guys who are in the closet, yeah I've found that a lot of straight guys are often right on target. My dad and brother are often quick to spot gay guys and I think that my straight buddies have better gaydar than I do, and I'm the gay one! For example, I had a roommate whom I lived with for a year and a half at college. Well, as far as I knew he was straight. However, my straight friends were convinced that he was gay or bisexual. Well, he came out of the closet midway through the second semester that we lived together. My friends were right; I was wrong, and I lived with the guy!

Have you ever noticed that the real mean guys hang out together. Thats because they feel superior when surrounded with like feeling friends. But if you seperate them, They become Lambs. The more bistanders laugh the more they egg him People are trying to be accepted even if that means hurting others.

Usually not. Hey, some former NFL players have come out (after their career days of course) and admitted to being gay. So it's not written on a person's face though sometimes a person may act effete (and it may even be natural to them).

I'd report this to the principal as something that disturbs you. Use the phrase hostile environment and I'd bet he puts a stop to it and your friend doesn't look bad because you made a complaint based on something that it bothered you to see happen.
