is it true that Europeans have always been against Islam?

i've come to know that when the europeans came to arab land, iran, iraq etc. they destroyed or seized all the great works(books, researches, theories, logics, and scientific developments) of Muslim scholars and scientists. Why are europeans like this? Still today, they are working against Islam. why???

In your opinion, what is that the Europeans still do today that is against Islam? Publish cartoons? Blow themselves up?

The war between western thought and Islam is long and deep.

It started with the spread of Islam. Islam, after Mohammed's return to Mecca (which was accomplished by violent invasion), spread through a mixture of evangelism and force. Those who would not willingly convert were made to at the point of a sword or killed.

you forget that the Muslims led by Muhammad forcibly converted many nations, pillaged and assimilated many of the achievements of others as their own: examples include Persia of the Achaemenids , the Egypt of the Pharaohs, Pakistan, Byzantine Empire (what is Turkey today), Greece, Sicily, etc.

But that's not to say that they didn't bring benefits, because they did. They deeply influenced and enriched Iberian culture, they opened up trade routes in central asia and the indian ocean.

Europeans and Islamic nations have been at constant competition because they both are great powers and they posed threats to each other. But the animosity really started when the Caliphate in the Holy Land stopped accommodating Christian pilgrims and attacked them in some instances.
They also desecrated some Christian relics and demolish some sites for their own holy buildings. Notice I said some, not all.

Europe got very angry and launched the Crusades to conquer the Holy Land to open routes for pilgrims and another venue for expanding their empires. The Crusades is when misunderstanding got really bad, their was vicious propaganda on both sides.

The end of the crusades was marked by a reconquest of the Holy Land by Saladin and his armies. The Muslims also gained a valuable vassal in the converted Turks who migrated to Anatolia and conquered the Byzantines. Eventually the Turks got to powerful and conquered the Arab Caliphate and went on to carry Islam's banner into the Balkans and Central Europe.

So Islamic invasions into Europe exacerbated the Islamophobia Europeans had.

Of course with the end of WW1 the Turkish empire was shattered by the Allies and they partitioned the Turkish empire for spoils.

I think Islamophobia cooled off when the Ottoman empire fell and the Islamic lands were incorporated into the European empires. That is until a radical group called Al-Qaeda crashed airplanes into the US and then that sparked a whole other wave of hatred.

You have some of your facts backwards. It is Islam that came to western lands such as North Africa, Spain, and the Balkans. Westerners often view Islam as a military threat because historically it has been a military threat. Which books etc were destroyed or seized by westerners?

The Europeans in the Middle Ages were definitely against them. They referred to them as infidels and thought the Islamic religion was false. Part of the reason to go on the crusade was to 'save' these people. In today's societies they are not against Islam.

Islam is not a religion made by mankind. Islam is a religion made and completed by God. Not only European, in material what ever or who ever they are ISLAM will stand. Just like trying to destroyed Ka'aba. Kaaba is the house of God. God always protect. Islam is protected by Al-Mighty God ALLAH Subhanahu Wata'ala.
