I know that it is very hard to quit smoking, but it is in the best interest of your baby to do so. My sister just went through this and she said that everytime she would crave a smoke, she would picture the tiny baby sitting in a smoke filled uterus trying to breath. She sad it was a strong enough mental image to help her get past her craving ( and downing a bunch of water!!). Speak to you doctor about quitting, as I know when she did, her dr tried to ween her off, as the dr. said that a immediate quit, can create alot of stress on the mothers system and can in turn put a lot of stress on the early pregnancy. Please go see your doctor and seek their medical advice for you. Be strong - it is really hard I know! But you will succeed! Best of luck!

You need to stop smoking. I quit when I was pregnant with my son and even though it wasn't easy it was what I needed to do as his Mother. Baby's deserve the best start we can give them. As far as the coffee goes, studies show that more than three cups of coffee a day increases the risk of miscarriage. So one or two cups is not thought to be harmful, but you should really consult your Dr. on this and go with what they say.
Congratulations on the baby :)

Yes, smoking it is potentially harmful to the Baby as well as yourself... One of the biggest problems with babies is low birth weight. And just like children born with drug addictions, you baby will be born with an addiction to Cigarette addiction. And you see how hard it is for you to quit. And Caffeine, while in very light moderation isn't too harmful, it too can cause damages to the baby. . But the thing you need to think of is how it will effect the baby one he/she is born. I would do the best I could do with the caffeine, but you have got to give up those cigarette's Best Of Luck.... Go buy you a bunch of carrot sticks, and fresh fruits and veggies to snack on in place of a cigarette.....

It's not safe and can lead to a premature baby and low birth weight. You need to quit. Ask your doctor about this.
You can have a limited amount of coffee when you are pregnant, but some doctors say to just abstain alltogether.

you prolly shouldnt smoke, it can cause bad circulation and low birth weight. coffee is ok in moderation, it speeds up the babys heart rate. My girlfreind smoked a little bit when she was stressed when she was pregnant with our son, and he seems to be fine. But i wouldnt say its ok to smoke like a chimney.
