If some one asks "why does everyone hate me?" they get dozens of comments.

If they ask something a little more interesting, they get far fewer answers.

I tend not to answer questions that go on and on -- too lazy to read them I guess. I don't answer questions like "why does everybody hate me?" or "am I pretty?" or "should I leave him/her."

I'll have to start paying more attention to the types of questions which get a lot of answers.

Maybe it says something about the people who visit this site. It is easy to ask an undemanding question and even easier to send a monosyllabic response in exchange for a couple of jelly-beans or points or whatever it is. There ARE some challenging questions and some insightful answers. There is also the other extreme which shows no knowledge or insight or that simply echoes some tired old dogma. Frustrating though this may be, we all have a right to be here provided we stick to the rules - even the participants who have just dropped-in to relax and unwind. On balance, there is enough intelligent activity to make it worthwhile though it could be more rewarding if users were willing to put more thought into it.

I think, that if a question is interesting it probably requires a lot more thought to answer.
If it's a simple Q people can answer Yeah! No! and earn 2 points
Therefore you get fewer answers to an interesting Q because people are far more interested in earning points than they are in resolving the Q!

Simple.Look at the sales of cheap goodies on a pavement or a road side.Their sales volume would beat any famous brand. It's a no brainer and everything for 2 cents(or two marks).

thats just the way it is, it gets on my nerves though, when you ask a question you barely get answers if its like not 'important' and like someone asks 'does he like me?' sort of questions they get lots of answers. but I don't like to read questions that are like really long...
