I have had a look at a couple of them, but how do i know which device driver is responsible for a particular software, in my case Solidworks?

To check a device driver version, right click My Computer and click Properties. Click the Hardware tab and then click on Device Manager. Click the + along side of the device for which you wish to check the driver. Now double click the device and choose the "Driver" tab in the Properties box.

Updated drivers can be downloaded from the hardware manufactures web site.
