This is truly fascinating. Whether or not one believes that Bush ever made the comment about the French having no native word for "entrepreneur", if he did make the comment, he was right, perhaps not literally but definitely figuratively. In French, an entrepreneur is the eqivalent of a contractor. Not very glamorous, you know? In reality, it is true that the French have no single word that describes the English equivalent of "entrepreneur". Check out the brief story below:

The word "entrepreneur" is a loanword from French. In french the verb "entreprendre" means "to undertake", with "entre" coming from the Latin word meaning "between". In French a person who performs a verb, has the ending of the verb changed to "eur", comparable to the "er" ending in English. Therefore, an entrepreneur is an undertaker, a person who undertakes a task.

Enterprise is similar to and has roots in, the French word "entreprise", which is the past particple of "entreprendre".

Entrepreneuse is simply the French feminine word for "entrepreneur".

Suggesting that the French don't have a word for "entrepreneur" is tantamount to suggesting that the Italians don't have a word for "spaghetti", my friend. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/entrepreneur

Well stated.
Bush may not be the most talented person in the world when it comes to conveying his ideas, and he's definitely not the best spokesperson we have ever had as president - but he certainly isn't as dumb as the people of a certain political persuasion would have us believe.
He has been forthright and resolute in his efforts to bring some semblance of stability to a turbulent and violent Middle East - regardless of the political backlash - and that's a pretty good attribute for the Commander in Chief.

Think of what you just said about Bush, Harvard, and Yale. If you think that guy would have gotten into those schools without family connections, you are missing a few brain cells.

Bush isnt dumb..hes ruthless and a master of propoganda.

And He lied about his turkey day tradition...trying to create a new tradition from his fathers tradition for pardoning turkeys.
Somehow bush jr is trying to say Truman started that tradition....when in fact,..pardoning of turkeys wasnt started by truman but by Bush Sr

See how clever Bush tries to be?

He expects people to take his word for it.
Like a con man, who feels after everyone knows hes a con man, still tries to con the people.

Technically Scuba Diver -- Bush is not your boss, the people are his boss.
But you wouldnt know it the way he goes around feeling accountable to no one.
So I can see how you can get that mixed up.

Bush is a born again fanatic christian that climbed a mountain, talked with God, was told him go to war and kill people. This fearless leader is a danger to America.

This is an exercise in futility, never will you hear the leftist give Bush credit for anything. They are still in denial that the surge in Iraq is working. Savage said it best...
