Shes 4 months now and she constantly is rolling on her stomach at night, but cant roll herself back over and it frustrates her and scares me. Ive been so worried about SIDS bc a friend lost their little boy, that i'm afraid to put anything in her crib for fear of suffocation. Does anyone have a remedy for this or helpful input?

Just don't put anything in her crib. My 2 boys refused to sleep on their back. They both were tummy kids. They are now 4 and 2 and doing great. I was scared at first, but at some point I had to just let go and relax.

I tried the pillow thing and it did not work.

The American Academy of Ped. recommends putting to sleep on back, but hey, when your baby can position herself onto stomach, there isn't much more you can do. I wouldn't go with positioning wedges. They aren't safety tested, Just don't keep anything in the crib the baby can get around her head.. you know the routine: tight fitting sheet. no bankets, no pillows, sleeper sack for the baby. Also like my mom says, we all slept on our stomaches and grew up just fine. Lastly try not to worry.

My guy's at the same stage as well. Just remember that if they are strong enough to roll over they are also strong enough to move their heads. As long as their is nothing in the crib they can smoosh their faces into like blanket/toys/bumpers etc... she'll be fine. My guy hates being on his tummy so if he wakes up and has rolled over he lets me know so I can go flip him back. I'm trying to teach him to do it himself and if I get his arms propped up he will roll himself.

I have the baby positioner but my guy hates it as he likes to wiggle around and dangle his feet out of the crib. YMMV

She's fine. She's not going to suffer from SIDs. I would use a foam wedge and get her to sleep on her side. She can't roll either way, I'm assuming (maybe you have super-baby).

My kids are 21 and 17, and at that time, you were supposed to put your kid on their tummies. So they always slept that way.

The stores have great foam braces to keep them from rolling. The way that they're made makes it a lot safer than just rolling a towel next to her.

I can't remember where I saw it, but they make this pillow type thing that holds your baby so that they can't roll over onto their stomaches. It has like a cylinder type pillow then a flat place and then another cylinder type pillow. It looked like it would really help. Sorry I couldn't give you more info.

does she do it when she goes to sleep or in her sleep? put her down and place her on her side. Many babies aren't comfortable on their back if you can put her on her side and she'll stay there then there you go. If not baby manufactures make support cushions that you can use to support her on her side. they are not entirely soft and cushy so there shouldn't be a real risk of suffocation from them.

I have one and it is great, she can't roll over and it helps keep her on her side to help keep the shape of her head.
