IPod 4GB Charger ,,USB,,HELP PLEASE!!?

Do i need 2 seperate pieces to charge and download,,,do i need a charger,,and a USB cable,,,and do they come together?Or is the USB a charger,,,or IS the charger a USB,,,i`m completely dumb!!!

The USB is also a charger when connected to pc.Or you can use it in a wall socket.

there is only 1 piece and you can get them cheap on ebay and yes you r dumb!!!
