I understand your anger but in light of this being your place of employment, is it worth it? what do your fellow employees say, have you spoken to your boss about it? Isnt it your bosses responsibility to point out your fellow employee's incompetence? Granted she should never have struck you, but I certainlyy wouldnt cut off my nose to spite my face!!! you may be the laughing stock by suing a female for striking you.... Take it up with your supervisor......

Based on your question, I would wonder if you are more at fault for slander and creating a hostile work environment. That being said, she still shouldn't have hit you. You could press charges, but likely nothing would happen. As far as suing her, what are your damages. You would have to prove damages in order to get a monetary judgment.
I am wondering though, whose truth you told her, and why you felt like that was your job. If she is causing problems at work, you should talk with your supervisors. If you were trying to help her that is one thing, but based to your question it appears you were more likely trying to agitate her.

You sound like a real piece of work yourself. You sound like a nasty little person who should concern themselves with their own work and leave others to worry about theirs. I think you'd be wrong to sue because you damages are what? You are both at fault for acting like children, grow up.
