Emma - no originality. I hate this name....

Hermione and Kahlan - I like both but it would depend on the last name....

No certain type of girl come to mind for any of them, but that's because I don't think a name constitutes what you'll be like in life.... it just shows whether parents wanted their children to blend in with the crowd or gave them something to stand out.

FYI - spelling a standard name with some off the wall spelling does not count as unique - just trashy. (i.e. instead of Madison spelling it Maddissyn)

Emma--I know a little girl named Emma. She's musically inclined, cute as a button (6), polite, intelligent, loving and curious, exactly what I'd want in a daughter.

Hermione--I can't tell where you live, but in the US I haven't encountered this name since I read an old, old gothic romance 15 years ago.

Kahlan--Sounds foreign, easy on the ear, easy to pronounce. I picture a little girl in flowing clothing (like a sari), shy, but friendly when she feels comfortable around you.

An Emma to me sounds like a girl with good values and traditional parents; someone who will contribute to society and make other people feel welcome around her.

As to the others, I would venture that they would grow up angry with their parents who stuck them with such horrible names and the abuse that they would receive from others. News flash for the "elitists" out there--kids are cruel!

Horrible names like these create "issues" with the poor souls who had no choice in what they were to be called.

I see more Prozac being used for many years after...

Emma, mom liked Jane Austen.
Hermione, mom watched too much Harry Potter.
Kahlan, Mom couldn't spell Collin or thought it was a boy's name.

I like Emma fine. I like Honore instead, and I like Collin.

Emma is a cute, sweet, funny, pretty girl!!! However I don't like herminoe though, it's reminds me of an old lady that has lots of cats...... no offense though. Maybe go for a diffefent middle name....... Like Emma Quinn, or Emma Charlotte???

Emma--Jane Austen's well-meaning matchmaker character in the novel "Emma". (check out the Gwyneth Paltrow film)

Hermione--too, too Harry Potter!

Kahlan--a girl who will spend far too much time explaining to people how to pronounce her name. ????

Best of your three is Emma, but be warned: Emma's already abound in the preschools.
