the things you fear are mostly which threaten your existence or challenge your will to live.eg; men are afraid of losing their job, position, money etc; & women of losing their children;partners.the fear of darkness;heights etc is common to both sexes.your so called "fear" of rodents is in fact not a fear but a repulsion IMHO.

There is nothing to Fear, but Fear itself.* Fear is self created in the mind.* The only two (2)* natural fears we did have was fear of falling & loud noises when we were babies.* All other fears since then are self created in the mind & unnatural Fears.*
