I don't tend to make many comparisons between hockey and football. And I live in the land of relating everything to the Steelers... but I'll bite.

- They both are made into scapegoats by both the fans and the media.
- They both have stressful jobs...
Although, I think being a goalie is a little more stressful night-to-night than being the Pittsburgh Steelers' QB. The QB has to face more adversity AFTER the game, from the very critical Pittsburgh media and passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fans.
- It's all rebounds for Fleury this season, just as it was all turnovers for Roethlisberger last season.

Appearently some people need the whole accident cleared up. LITY seemed to be the only one reading the reports, beyond that Ben wasn't wearing a helmet(which is legal in PA, except he didn't have a valid PA License so he was cited). Ben wasn't operating a motorcycle at highway speeds, what pick up do you think that bike had if you look at the distance, and he was slowing down when it happened. He then crashed BECAUSE AN OLD WOMAN DOESN'T PAY ATTENTION. According to PA Law, and probably the same everywhere, the person turning has to YIELD TO THE ONE GOING STRAIGHT. I don't know what was going on with her but I do know the cops gave HER the ticket for failure to yield the right of way. I know SHE was the one found responsible.

Back to the real question though. I don't see how you can compare the two. I mean it takes such a stretch to compare a position where only the offense is on to one where both are in front of him for both teams. Although I could find some differences. Marc Andre Fluery has yet to get through a round of the playoffs. Ben was Rookie of the Year and didn't lose until the playoffs of his rookie season. Ben has had a great team in front of him from the start.
Although if you want thinks that are alike they are both on teams that are mostly young in the best players.

I think I love Roethlisberger because the Steelers are my team. But other than a few very common comparisons amoung top white male athletes in pro sports, there isn't much. It's different sports. The same could be said about Roethlisberger and Crosby. Or of Crosby and Jason Bay (Pitt. Pirates player). It's best to leave any comparisons of these two or any athletes of two different sports out of the question.

Nope. Fleury's not an idiot by operating a motorcycle on highway speeds on city streets....without a helmet. Even the people in Toronto can't get dumber than that.

Go Leafs, by the way.
