I will use this computer with Windows XP and I will use Microsoft Word just for school work. What are the parts that I will need for my computer (I really mean like the parts that you would reccomend). I would like to not have to spend over $1,000 but I don't need the best either.

You'll be able to get one for less than $1,000. I recommend a Dell because they have good customer service and honor their warranty. Mainly: you'll want a dual core processor, 2GBs of memory, and a nice large screen. You're looking at $700-800. Get some nice speakers too. M-audio makes great studio speakers for $99

You could use this mobo:http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2853608&CatId=1533
or this combo: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3208228
add this memory:http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=2261&
Harddrive/s: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=2459 I suggest at least 500GB for video editing, you're gonna' need the room! If it's in the budget, a Western Digital Raptor, for the gamin'! 10,000rpm, should do it, 15,000 isn't that necessary.
Graphics card:http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Category/category_tlc.asp?CatId=28&name=Video-Cards

Would recommend 750 watts, but you can list all your internal part's, and use this calculator from Asus.com: http://support.asus.com/PowerSupplyCalculator/PowerSupplyCalculator_right.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
