from owning guns there? Doesn't the Washington D.C. law just prove that when you outlaw guns in the US, only outlaws will have guns? Liberals, I really want to hear from you...why haven't gun bans in DC resulted in less violent crimes and homicides?

it doesn't matter if there are more or less guns. it's the number of people actively committing crimes. hypothetically, if you were to take away all guns everywhere, criminals will turn to knives. take away the knives, they'll turn to baseball bats with nails thru the end, take those away, they'll turn to nunchucks, take those away, they'll turn to slingshots. it doesn't matter. weapon minded people will find a weapon, when none other are available and still rob liquor stores and little old ladies. women will get raped at fork point. as the old adage goes, guns don't kill people, people kill people.

We've all heard their arguments before. The reason DC isn't paradise on Earth is the lax gun laws everywhere else. Yep, gun dealers in South Carolina are forcing miscreants from the nation's capitol to import guns into the District, since we all know they would never find a way to behave criminally on their own.
The part I haven't figured out is why, if we have such easy access to guns here, we don't have DC's crime rate.
Maybe it's NOT the guns?
