I was driving to work this morning and went to make a left hand turn and my wheel gave out and I hopped the curb so bad I almost went on the opposite side of the street . I got over and parked in a bank parking lot........but I'm a lil worried about what kind of damage I might have done cause the whole time I was trying to park it the whole car was shaking.....but I don't know if it was that or the fact that the wheel came all the way off and I was driving on a rim pretty much......dose any one know how to tell if its broken........when the cops came they said that my wheel was so old that it had just give out.......and that the alligment might be off......now I'm no car buff but I told my brother and dad the same thing like a week ago and they told me it was just cause it was old..........woooo sorry I'm just a lil freaked out right now......cause everything I told them about the car was right.......

what year make and model is it.?
when you turn the steering wheel do both wheels turn?
the drive axle is what makes the wheel spin not urn with the steering wheel.there are rt and lt axles in the front of front wheel drive cars.one wheel gets most of the power and the car can still move slow if the other axle pulled.if one axle is out and the car still moves, there will be a very loud noise under the front of the car as the axle is pulled out and is hitting all the other suspension parts
