...and now that just about every manager worth having is turning down the job, are England in dire straits with regard to the World Cup of '10 ? Also... does England find itself in the unenviable position that they need to realise that, unless English players can play football, no manager, however good, can take England to football sporting height unless also English players learn how to win matches without foreign players help ?! Do you think these are crucial question that need to be addressed ? Hiring people like Trevor Brooking will only bring back a repetition of Kevin Keegan as manager when he resigned after losing 3-2 to Portugal.
What do you think ? Thanks...

Dj' s that is why it is a pitty that Mourinho isn't coming. That guy just isn't afraid to do anything that needs to be done. Mourinho would fire the entire team and start afresh. That, in itself. would be a show worthing watching. Lampard FIRED and in comes a nobody aged 19 but who is brilliant. Crouch FIRED and in comes another unkown aged 19 who at least looks like a football player...
OR even... "ANYONE EARNING IN EXCESS OF 2000 A WEEK NEED NOT APPLYTO BECOME AN ENGLISH PLAYER! SIGNED: Mourinho"
If there is anybody not afraid of change that's him. Mourinho thrives for change !!! JM the Renovator

I think that the greed of the EPL over the past 11 years since Euro 96 has finally come back to bite them.

You are spot on that it is the foreign imports in support of the English players make them look good, and that is trouble.

The Fa should have stamped on the money issue years ago and demanded a strong precentage of the cash for grass roots football.

But being Scottish I am glad in a way that it will take this harsh reality check to stop the English media being so damned arrogant.

The players we have are good players. They just didn't bother playing for England. That is their fault. But its also the fault of the coaching staff. We have the best army in the world. The leaders don't simply give soldiers a bunch of equipment and say "off you go". There is definate and calculated leadership. Make them want to win, and they shall. As long as we get a manager that can actually do the job, there shouldn't be many problems. We have just witnessed what happens when you give the job to a complete tool. Every good manager around knows what is required to make England a great team. It's only a matter of time (probably a few more days) until one of them takes the job.

I think if the People wearing the shirts of England cant be bothered to play for England and represent their country with pride and passion, then it's time to start dropping the big names and actually bring in some fresh, new, hungry faces that will give 110 per cent!

Don't be scared to drop players who feel they are to big for England! they would be dropped in an instant if they continued to play like this for there premiership clubs!

Rant over : )

Exactly Red.... all we need now is to find somebody with BALLS who is not afraid of anything or anyone and only as eyes for the game and who has passion, pride, but the question is..... who??... Whoever it is i think Shearer should at least assist!

Why do English people just assume that people like mourinho and other top managers would want to manage them in the first place??....

Mourinhos name was being bandied about even before the croatia game...
Every manager you get you just moan anyway....
A nation of moaners, thats what you are :-))

True or not true??
