Agree! Of course she's not a daughter-in-law as she's not married to your whosoever yet.

She just has her mother in law's grandbaby? That's it? Boy, talk about blowing things out of proportion, wheeeww...

I think you are placing more importance on the piece of paper than the child in itself. The piece of paper can be torn, marriages can be dissolved, but blood bonds are never broken, ever. Sorry if you think it means nothing, but I think once a baby is in the picture, you can't commit any more than you already are. You are in neck deep, like it or not. Why not get married? I don't know, but the point is, this girl gave her mother in law a grandchild, and apparently, this baby is very cherished by his grandma.

That is the only legal way being class as a daughter-in-law. Yes, being married is the only way to have that title to be called daughter-in-law.

Marriage is under the law. It does not a true union make. It has sanctions of law, therefore by marriage one becomes a daughter-in-law.

It doesn't bless the union, it's just a way that the law can get into your personal life.

Yes! That's where the law comes from.

People can call you there daughter in law but the actual thing is your married to a son (or daughter in the right state).

I have been with my partner for 10 years, and his dad considers me "his daughter-in law " by now....
but he is open minded.... my parents on the other hand have different feelings ....
so - it is a personal attitude... for most you would have to be married...
