why is the term VARSHA added to the ancient name of BHARAT (i.e.the country of INDIA)?

I WANT TO KNOW THE MEANING OF ASSOCIATION OF TERM 'VARSH' WITH 'BHARAT'

Not sure on the meaning, but the family Bharat feature heavily in the accounts of Histanipur, chronicled in the Muhabharat. They were castodians of the kingdom and so this may be a title associated with that role, it may even be a collective term for the family.

However, I would look at the Muhabharat first.
