Hey there all

I am 33 weeks pregnant and past week have been having low cramps in my tummy, like lots of needles are being poked around down there.....

It was really bad last night and lasted for about half an hour.... i had to get out of bed and walk around as walking made it feel alot better, i found it very difficult to move without it hurting and when i breathed in deeply it was painful too, i also had this huge pressure pain in my bottom that went into my vagina (sorry for too much info) it felt like i needed to go to the loo when i didnt need to.

Today the pain is still there more of a dull ache and still the heavy feeling in my butt.

Anybody else had this?

Its very normal. Your baby is probably low, possibly engaged in the pelvis, and it causes a lot of pressure and the feeling like you need to poop.

The contractions are normal too. So are the pains in your vagina.

Its all normal, you can go have you doctor check you if you're concerned you might be headed into preterm labor- but this sounds like pretty run of the mill complaints in later pregnancy.

Hey! I'm 34 weeks pregnant with my first baby. And everyone seems to tell me things like this are normal. I've never had a baby,,,so it's hard for me to make the decision of when/when not to go to the hospital. Wednesday I started having some contractions,,,but they were not "5" minutes apart. More like 4 a day. But my mom told me, that it is better to be safe than sorry and call the doctor to ask them their opinion. The nurse said that when they are "5-10" minutes apart...and any blood or a gush of water...to head to the hospital. You can be in labor and not even know it-A friend of mine was having the same symptoms you are having...no water, no bleeding...and was in labor. If she had not gone to the doctor being instinctive...she would have had the baby at home! Every person's body is different...so really there is no "normal". Better to be safe than sorry!

sounds as though you are having braxton hicks contractions. I wonder about the pain when breathing in as well as the pressure in your bottom. You are still only 33 weeks and have a least 7 until you are term, you should consult your doctor or midwife just to make sure you are not going into premature labour. If there is a chance of going into premature labour you will need to have steroids to help develop babys lungs, better to be safe than sorry!

I have to share my story with you, not to scare you, but so that you'll head to the doctor just in case.

I was 33 weeks pregnant with a very normal pregnancy when I started having pains like you describe. I woke up in the night and it almost felt like my period was coming. It was cramps but nothing horrible that I would even need Advil for. I called my doc just in case and he said I should come in to check things out but that I was probably fine. I felt stupid all the way to the hospital thinking I was one of those silly new-moms-to-be who mistook my false labor symptoms as the real thing.

When I got to the doc it was determined that I was 3 cm dilated and in labor. They stopped my labor for two days while I was in the hospital but then my water broke and I gave birth to my son. He was absolutely fine but needed to stay in the hospital for 11 days since he was so small.

You'll probably have lots of people on here tell you that the symptoms you are having are normal. The trouble is, even doctors sometimes have trouble determining preterm labor based on a description of symptoms alone. You need to call your doctor and see if they think you should come in just to check things out.

You really are probably fine but, if not, there are things they can do to stop the labor and give your baby some more time. It's worth it! Good luck!!!

I would say head to your labor and Delivery and get looked at. Last Wednesday, I was having that pressure in my bottom, felt like I had to go #2, but coundn't. I just thought I was constipated. My perents finally made me go to the hospital, and I was 9.5 cm dilated. I had to have an emergancy c-section at 34 weeks. My little man is still in the hospital!

I feel that it is normal for pregnancy to be very uncomfortable at times. However, when you are in down right pain, that raises a red flag for me. If your pian continues then I think it would be best to call your doctor or visit your local ER or both.
I hope that all it ok.

Sounds like the baby is making his/her way down to be born.
