Moral authority? Have you not noticed the lack of morals surrounding the republican party? They play on your morals while having none of their own. When are you guys going to understand the GOP is no more the party of morals then the democrats?

If that is the case, then its no wonder why Romney has been attacked by his fellow Republican ilk for actually living up to "traditional family values."

It's also worth noting how a lot of conservative blowhards here on Y!A and in the rightwing media like to accuse liberals of attacking Romney's Mormon faith when it is Evangelical Christers who have taken issue with it. They don't consider Mormons to be "true Christians."

His morals and ethics regarding the role of government and business is another issue.

I hate the idea of this. I'm not voting for someone because I need moral leadership, I go to Church for that. And so far we have had complete and utter failures when we look at our leaders for so called "moral authority."

Do I wanted a convicted felon for a President?
No.

But, I think we can do a better job of vetting Presidents by assuming they live a certain standard because their minister says so or because the "they" think so.

How have they conducted themselves their entire life?
Have they tried to hide their "dark" past and everybody has one or something they are ashamed of.
Do they behave in a honorable fashion?

I don't know if Mitt Romney is any of those things and I'm not interested in him telling me what values I should and should not have. I'm interested in him getting us out of this stupid war and restoring the dignity of the US.

You know who else, Hillary....bet that got you. She hasn't cheated, she has put her family ahead of everything else and shown she has the courage to work it out instead of walking out. Ask anyone in that situation, married to a repeat adulterer, its tough, but they seem to have worked it out.
Its easy when you aren't tempted or haven't the interest, but its what you do when the going gets tough that counts.
That's really how you get moral authority, by being tested and coming through, not just by being a good guy.

It depends. Are you referring to the "pro-abortion" Governor Romney, or the "pro-life" presidential candidate Romney?

Are you referring to the "pro-illegals" Governor Romney, or the "anti-illegals" presidential candidate Romney?

I do admit that Romney is the only GOP front runner to keep his family in tact.

Yet ALL of the Dem candidates have done so as well.
