do you go back and look to see who got best answer and think why not me, mine was better, why did i not get it, or do you think congratulations to them, do you ever leave comments, do you look and see if the person who asked the question said something about you in there choice of best answer, like i sometimes do i say thanks for your answer, and thank you to so and so for yours,

whats your verdict

I check on questions that had real meaning to them but I never get upset if I don't get chosen as BA. It bothered me in the beginning, but got I over that when I noticed that most people don't even chose a BA; they just let it go to voting. When I am chosen as BA, I check their comments and will leave feedback if it's appropriate. No additional comments for a regular thank you though.

EDIT (as requested)>>> Well like I said, I only check back if it's a question with meaning & I was curious to see the other answers to your question.

Yes, I do go back and see who got best answer. I don't give it a lot of thought, because I recognize that often the best answer is going to be chosen based on what the questioner first had in mind.
When I get best answer I often and used to always comment with a thank you. I haven't responded in that kind in a little while so maybe this is a good reminder to do so.
Oh and yes, I am also curious to see why someone chose the answer they did. Sometimes it confirms my opinion and sometimes I have been thoroughly surprised.

No, b/c I try to give an honest answer. I know people don't like honesty and my advice is free. I don't need kudos to know I gave a good answer. I like kudos, but I wait til I get emailed that I had a best answer, I don't review to see who got the best answer, I don't everything and someone could have said it better, or better tho't out than I did, and that's okay. I also think if people don't like my advice, well, it's a free country... take it or leave it. I'm not losing sleep over it.

I never leave comments but sometimes I do go back to check!

I usually just get surprised if mine gets the best answer - 9 times out of 10 i'm just saying whatever pops into my head first!

I think: That answer isn't as good as mine. This is so unfair. I should have been chosen!

Then I kick and scream and throw the computer through the window and then have to go out and buy a new one.

PS. I better get Best Answer for this. I can't afford a new computer!

Much the same as you ,, OK I feel gratified if I get best answer but not mortified if I dont. I have answered about 8700 questions but only have 6% best answer rate... Some others have 14/15 % rate from much fewer answers .. I suppose it depends how selective you are of the questions you answer,,,

I check back yes. i do wonder at peoples choices for the best answer but it's never bothered me that i didn't get it. i very rarely leave a comment either.

i don't go back to check unless i think i did a really fantastic job in answering the question. if i dont get that 'best answer' email i figure, oh well at least i got my 2 points. when i am picked, i don't tendto say thank you either unless they madea nice comment about the answer i left

it's a moral dilemma which threatens to become a philosophically twisted argument leading to a whole gamut of psychological approaches likely to refer to a pseudo-crisis begging for a relevant answer to the question like "to be or not to be that is the question".but the thing is "is it relevant in the pursuit of self satiation". if the answer is yes then narcissus was a demi-god & also a necrophiliac monster.amen.

at time i think people choose what they feel will work better for them isntead of actually trying out all the answers then coming back and awarding an answer which mean why ask if your not going to step outside your box
