Probably because that is what kids are used to seeing when anyone comes out of the shower, be Dad, brother, or Donald Duck.

To show he just got out of the shower. It's a cartoon, he can wear anything the cartoonist desires. How does the coyote get that rocket threw the mail so quickly from Acme? Pony Express? Must be faster than the USPS.

To dry himself. My boyfriend still uses a towel after the shower even if he prances around with just a t shirt on afterwards.

Because kids are very impressionable so if he didn't have one on they would think they can run around naked and not use towels when they get out of the shower

Just to show he took a bath/shower. MIckey took a bath and wore a towel (yes, I know Mickey wears shorts, but it is just to make a point). My favorite Disney character, BTW.

Well there dosn't really have to be a logical reason because it IS a cartoon but one could say that the animater is emphasizing the fact that he has been interupted from somthing.

Wow, the universal question. I wonder what drives people to ponder such an event?

That's why they banned him in Sweden about 40 years ago. But they said it was because of his temper.
