It's right below the keyboard (like always) and every time the palm of my hands gets too close, the curser does weird things and completely interrupts me when I'm typing. Sometimes what I'm typing will appear 6 inches up, in the middle of an existing paragraph ! I HATE IT , I HATE IT !!
I deleted the driver, and before that I would de-activate the mousepad from conrol panel, but nothing permanently deactivates it. I never use this thing, because i have a USB mouse.
Right now i have a piece of ugly cardboard covering it It works, but is there a better way?

Lizzie,
it has a screen that's about 2 inches wide. Couple that with the narrow keyboard typical of a laptop , it's impossible to avoid this thing. It's also heat-sensitive, so i don't even have to touch it.. just hover above it.
It's demonic :(

OK. Go to control panel. Double click the "Mouse" Icon to open the properties of the device.
From the mouse properties dialog box, click on the "Device Settings" tab.
Now look and "check/select" for the option that says "Disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached."
Click "Apply" and "OK".

I have bought myself a sloping platform from argos that tilts the laptop to give you a better typing position therefore keeping your hands off the mouse pad. it also helps to let the air circulate around the laptop therefore stopping it getting to hot. hope this helps you.

On my laptop it has a small button on the trackpad. Just click that. Or try using the control panel
