Comments please, as I hit a very hard patch in my life. I Salute this women, for saying some things for me.

POST BY JAMIE LEE CURTIS. (Details below)
.
Thanksgiving was supposedly started as a feast and joyous celebration of making it through another year, of acknowledging the toil and strife and the people that helped us along the way. Lincoln (a personal favorite) made it an official holiday and although it originally was August 6, it now falls in November and this year on my birthday. I am grateful to be born. Life is precious. I am the mother of two adopted children so birth and and the giving of life is monumental in my home despite it's political toolmaking.

I am grateful to my mother for laboring on my behalf despite her secret desire to get back into her size 17-inch waist that I stretched out.

I am grateful to her and my father and my step-father's patience and guidance and complete disregard.

I am grateful that there is life out there for someone who isn't a scholar. I wear my combined 760 SAT scores like a medal around my neck that ANYONE can make it despite being a round, square, liberal, pampered peg in the proverbial square hole of what is the norm.
I am grateful that I am aware of the terrible legacy this generation has created and the wonderful technology that support this apathy.

I am grateful that someone wanted to share his life/heart/mind with me and that we have been able to raise our children in an attempt at our own family and not that we just perpetuated our own family histories.

I am grateful to have arrested and faced down my alcoholism and drug dependency and that my children and their children will not see me in an altered state, other than Idaho.

I am grateful for my friends who choose to know me and secretly see my snarky side and still let me be part of their lives. I am grateful, my children appreciate that I am trying to do.

What a shame, that 'some', who are TC's show there own insecurity,by being unable to give accolade to others. One can only pity them. It makes one think, what yardsticks does YH actually use to measure TC's.

Thank you for sharing that. I am sorry you're going through this rough patch in life now. You've got a good heart, and you know where you get your strength from when times seem to be at their worst. I am thankful. I may not have as much materially now as I've had in the past, but I'm thankful that through the grace of God, I have learned to be content. I'm thankful for a good husband, good friends, a good job, a good family who has their issues but still have good hearts. I'm thankful, my friend, for you.

My automobile has been pulled out of airborne dirt and dust via comprehensive strangers. an entire stranger pushed my automobile off to the area of the line whilst my alternator blew up and stored me from being hit via oncoming site visitors on a important site visitors highway, an entire stranger got here across and held onto my husband's wallet one Christmas Eve whilst he'd dropped it inadvertantly getting returned into the automobile following some late night buying which contained a police officer's badge, driving force's license, id's, county place of work codes, money, credits playing cards, you call it. My hubby grew to become into so extremely joyful with the call he have been given, he went right away over and retrieved the lost merchandise and gave the guy/spouse $50 for their honesty and secure retaining. it may've been a catastrophe in any different case. And we've the two been mindfull of our very own reward via others and tried to pay that forward via being as form to others as we probable can alongside the way.

Thank you, justme, for posting this. I thought I was grateful for all things, even my trials. Now I know I skipped a few things and I have so much more to be grateful for!! May the Lord carry you through the "hard patch" on his shoulders.

Justme, I want to say something to you. Rough patches can last a little while or a long time, depending on the circumstances. They can tear you down, mentally and physically. I hope you can stay strong through whatever it is you are going through and always count your friends, and count on your friends. Dont hesitate to talk to someone you know and trust and will understand.

Thank you SO much for sharing!...I learned the hard way to see gratitude in even the negative things in life; for those negatives have taught me much.

It is of a certainty that I am not grateful for everything (for shame); however, I am grateful for many things. Some small, some grand.
