When people come to America and get so upset because their language isn't all over the place ?
Someone asked "Why can't America make hindi their main language ?"
that reeeeeally got me upset ... I mean we can't change our entire country for you ...
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that America is cosed to foreighners but i think that if they want america to change their language to hindi than india should change their language to english ... isn't that fair ?
And than the hispanics ... in 2nd grade in Phoenix ,Arizona my entire class would laugh at me because i didn't know spanish ... i think that is totally unfair ... in AMERICA !!!!! we can not change our entire culture for them ! if they want to come they should come the right way ( we won't reject them) and they should learn english instead of trying to change our entire country !! that would be like if i went down to mexico illegally and started getting mad because they didn't speak english !!! Isn't that unfair ?!

i didn't say i hate the people ... it's ok to hate a situation ... that's what i learned growing up ... it's ok to hate a situation or what someone does but it is not ok to hate someone ...

I couldnt agree with you more, and in my opinion it is getting to be too much. And I wonder, in Mexico, when someone calls and office or business and they get a recorder do they hear, "press 2 for English"? I doubt it,,,,and heres the thing...this is AMERICA, please speak the language if you are going to live here. Its very very frustrating when I go to make a call to a credit card company, or my cell phone company and I cant understand a word the person on the other end is saying.In my opinion again,,,IF you are going to have a job as a telephone operater in America,,,,SPEAK THE AMERICAN LANGUAGE. WHat if I lived in MExico and couldnt speak spanish real well and I had that job and someone that didnt know English called...they would be frustrated too espcially when its every time they called I went to a McDonalds one time and a foreigner was taking my
order, I orderd a hot chocolate and he gave me a chocolate milk shake...
This is a subject that has always bothered me...Ill say no more, I dont really want another violation.

1st thought, you use too strong a word. I do not HATE at all. Dislike, yes, disagree, yes, but hate, no. Now here is all you have to say on English. The language the laws of the land are written is English, The Founding Fathers wrote the Declaration of Independence and Constitution in English. When the laws of the land are written in another language, then I will learn that language. Until then, it is up to you to learn English, not my responsibility to learn Spanish. This is an argument a lot of foreign language speaking people will have a hard time picking apart. If they persist, ask them what if you move to Mexico City. Is it the responsibility of Mexico City to provide everything in English or is it the responsibility of the person to learn the language of the place where they are? The same applies to Paris, Moscow, Berlin, Madrid, Lisbon. This is the United States. Our Founding Fathers wrote our documents in English. Our governments writes our laws in English. Time to learn the language of the laws of the land where you live.

You know, I totally agree!!!!! Although my boyfriend is from Venezuela, he can speak English and so can his brothers. It should be a requirment that you speak english if you plan to stay for a while, I can surely understand the tourist, but not the citizens. And of course, if we have to change our language, why doesn't Mexico, Canada, India, and every other country change their also. I agree sister I agree ;)

Get over it man. Some people have opinions...I'm sory that they laughed at you but I had the same incident happen to me.
I went to Germany for camp..this girl said something to me and I didnt understand so she called me stupid. Needless to say I kicked her ***. Just because I speak english not freakin german doesnt mean I'm stupid.
But I don't understand how that made you upset? If someone said to me "Why can't london change there language to japanese" I wouldnt be balling my eyes out...Its there opinion..

hate is such a strong word, it can sometimes be annoying i live in England its kinda the same. if you feel so strongly make sure you learn the language next time you go on holiday
