World Builders Anonymous?

Welcome to the first meeting of World Builders Anonymous. Here, you will be asked to make five (5) profound changes to the current global community to create a more functional, stable and life-sustaining environment for the entire biosphere.

You have three days to complete this task so… reserve your spot and then take your time building a better place for humanity to live.

Remember, form your reply into five changes to any or all of the current ecological, social, economic, scientific and political structure. Exacting detail is a plus; no answer will be too long. There are no wrong answers… just a world of ideas and imagination.

1. make all physical punishment of children illegal (including the so called spanking) how can we hope to end violence in the world when children receive violence from those whose care they are in
2. demand that fast food resturants decrease the fat and sodium levels of their foods, have strict guidelines that all resturants and schools must follow to insure the content of their foods are not harmful (healthy children grow into healthy adults, this would also help our economy, as such a large portion of our health budget would not need to be geared towards repair of the damage we have done to ourselves with our diet)
3. mandate national health care, divert money from the defense (which is doing alot more then defending us!) department and from foreign aid , if needed.
4. drop the electoral college, go with popular vote, the system is messed up the way it is, the
American people should have a president who gets the majority of the publics votes
5. build community complexes, which would house a community police division, a gym and recreation facilities, a day care, a social services dept office, etc etc, what the people need in their daily lives to help build them up

i know i havent mentioned specific scientific or ecological topics, but i feel if you build humanity up, from childhood, from that pool you will get the answers to the global problems, many great brains fall along the way, without ever reaching adulthood at full stride, healthy, involved, with a feeling of their rightfull place in the world. so my focus is on the social issues

NA and AA are bunk as far as I'm concerned, both in their religious tone and in their idea that people are "powerless" over their addictions, but they can't make you work the steps. You'll have to listen to the drivel if you attend, but you don't have to accept it. You can still benefit from going and connecting with some of the other members though, and when you talk with some of them on a one-on-one basis, I think you'll find that there are some reasonable people who also see things the way you do about recovery and addiction. There was one other group that's specifically secular in nature and has a message that I found to be much more beneficial to recovery, but for the life of me I can't remember what it is. It's been many many years. If I can recall, I'll come back and edit details or e-mail you. But yeah, just for the hell of it, go and attend the meetings, take everything with a grain of salt, and try not to gag when they tell you you can't get clean without God. That's a blatant lie, and I'm living proof of that. @ reflexologist - wow, you really swallowed that kool-aid hard, didn't you. Quoting right from the Blue Book I see. Complete and utter nonsense. If you like being a slave to meetings, then be my guest, but I like my normal life full of normal people and not having to go and reinforce my "helplessness" every day. If doctors all thought the way you did, we'd still be curing diseases with voodoo.

1) Get George Bush out of White House..
exact detail: ..if I had it my way; I would put him on a magic disk, and toss him into outer space; like in Superman.

2) I would kick every living communist ruler in the scrotum.

3) I would transform every gun into a sword, and see if anybody would start doing bow&arrow drive-bys.

4) I would transform every car into a chariot, and see if people did bow&arrow chariot-bys.

5) I would make everything like a science fiction movie...where you could just transport around and stay in form... (and I would wonder if people would do transporting sword-attacks)
