The PC is the best platform. Flexible, multifunctional, higher resolutions, plethora of mods, much more powerful. There is no platform that can compete with the graphics, physics and sound qualities of a current high end rig.

I think that the NES was quite revolutionary, and may have saved the console-gaming world (if not the entire gaming world). It introduced new genres, and most games that are considered classics nowadays are on this system. But if you're talking about the applications of modern technology, and graphics, and online play, and just standard, all-around perfect capabilities, the best console ever is the Xbox360.

theres no such thing as best platform. it depends on one's preference. to my preference, it would be Xbox360 and Sony PSP. Xbox360 has great graphics which is good to play RPGs. for Sony PSP, it is protable but i wouldnt play RPG games with it as the graphics are average. hope i answered ur qns.. --cheers--
