Centrino Duo is part of the Centrino Marketing initiative.

Its not a processor, but rather a term used to describe a combination of processor, chipset and wi-fi module. Its basically another excuse to put a sticker on your laptop and make the salesman look like they know what they're talking about.

So a Centrino Duo laptop will have a Core2 Duo processor in it.

Core 2 Duo was the latest variation of CPUs based on the Pentium M (mobile processor) with larger caches and some performance enhancements including faster main memory. Before this came Core Duo with 2 Pentium M CPUs. The latter did not have 64 bit working (needed for 64-Bit Windows). Latest is Pentium Dual Core Mobile which appears to be 64 bit capable but has smaller cache and slower memory than the other two. Intel do not list a Cenrino Duo. Centrino is a name for the overall technology used in a laptop.
