i have a HP Compaq nx6110, how do i check my available and used memory on the system???

Ctrl-Alt-Del to open Task Mgr.

Available Physical Memory on Task Manager display is misleading as you can also use a large amount of that shown as System Cache. This PC said 220 MB available out of 512 MB. After running a program that used 392 MB, it says 420 MB available.

Total Memory shown might be less than that provided by RAM chips if part of it is shared by graphics.

Press Control+Alt+Delete
Click the Performance Tab.
On the right hand side you will see Physical Memory. There is what you are after

to check available memory
IN windows XP
click on run type dxdiag and press enter in the system summary screen the available memory(RAM) will be shown.
to see memory in use press ctrl + alt + del.

in windows vista in the search field enter dxdiag and open.

well wat others have told is the simple way, i can tell u the otherway too.U can type taskmgr in the 'run' command in the start menu. In task manager open the 'performance' tab and u will get all the details u r looking for.
