Yeah, it's all a matter of preference. Some girls feel more comfortable wearing a thong. They're not all tacky designs, most of them are just plain cotton like normal knickers. I don't think there is anything wrong with young women wearing thongs, my sister is 11 and she has about 4 and my other sister is 16 and never where's knickers, only thongs. I'm 18 and wear frenchies coz I find them the most comfy.

I'm really not sure how it has been in the past, but I am 21, meaning I was in middle school about 8 years ago, and all of the girls I knew were wearing thongs.

Wow, till this day I haven't wore a thong nor a tampon.
Well, I live in South East Asia where if you are wearing a thong or a tampon means you are some sort of slut or daddy's rich girl. They aren't exactly cheap.
Well, I guess if you are comfortable with it, then it's fine,
But I do find it a bit icky at times...
But saves alot of hassle getting rid of that panty line.

I say it's just better. Even when I was in middle school (9 years ago) everyone was wearing thongs. It's way more comfortable than a pantie (which girls call grannies cause they think is grandma underware) and they are invisible trhough clothing so they don't get "marked" in their pants. It's no biggie.

yes it is a common trend in middle school, and especially high school. most people that wear them are doing so to avoid panty lines, but others are just doing it to try to get attention from guys.

How come everyone always looks down at 13/14 year olds because we're in middle school? It's ok to call 6th graders, or maybe 7th graders kids, but 8th graders? I mean really, what's the difference between a 8th grader and a 9th grader?

well im in ninth grade now, so i just left middle school.
you would be soooo surprised what society has come to.
almost all girls wear thongs almost all the time.
and how do i know?
the little sluts wear super low cut pants that show their *** crack.
ew.
im not saying i dont wear one every so often, but these girls act like they WANT people to see.
or maybe thats just my school area.
