Seems that no one has had the since to reverse what everyone says about Manning. Colts lose two of their three starting receivers and barely lose two games, yet all the talk is about how Manning is nothing without Harrison. He loses his left and right tackle on offense but still wins games. He made Jacksonville and Carolina look bad without Harrison and almost beat the Pats. Brady never had receivers, and guess what, he never put up numbers. It was always the running game and the defense that won games for them. Not that Brady isn't great, just that Manning is as good. I see so much talk about pressuring Manning and he will crumble, but tonight he was sacked four times and threw 3 td's without Harrison and his left and right tackle. Just looking for some honest answers on who is better. Not this year, last year or next. Who is the best qb.

Guess all everyone can do is refer to the rings which refers to a team effort and not the qb. I know, I make more sense than you and it hurts. Manning actually did little to win a Super Bowl last year and did way more in many previous years to earn one. It's a team win in the Super Bowl and if you watched any of the Super Bowls Brady performed in, you see what I mean. My question was Brady was never **** on paper, but now that he is, can you still rag Manning for the whole receiver bull.

Kimmy is a hot babe is a douche bag and I have watched almost every game on Sunday and Monday in the last 13 years. Sorry, but Brady has been good since 2001, not great. He as never had to overcome a shitty defense like Manning.

Brady won three superbowl with average receivers. Manning can't seem two put three solid drives together in a game with out Pro-Bowl wideouts.

You're a Colts homer, and you know nothing about Tom Brady. Before Brady, the most games the Pats had won in a season ever was 11. The year before Tom was the regular QB, the Pats were 5-11. Tom started full time in 2001, after the Pats had lost their first 2 games. Tom was 9-3 the rest of the season, and won the superbowl. The Pats sucked before Tom Brady, they've been a dynasty since Tom Brady.
Wow, Peyton threw 3 touchdowns tonight! Brady has thrown AT LEAST 3 touchdowns in EVERY GAME THIS SEASON!
Brady has won 3 superbowls without receivers. This is the first year he's had receivers, and he's destroying all the records. Try watching the Pats play, they're on prime time every week.

Running backs and defense won those games??? Hmm, during Brady's tenure, he had Antwoin Smith, who I am sure 90% of people who posted here know nothing about. Maybe a middle tier running back if that. Far from a stud. Then we had Dillon who was on the back nine of his career. He had good years with the Pats, because of the system. Brady always put up decent numbers for passing and that was with NO receivers. Branch was his only receiver. Of course, you would have to spread the offense to the RB's when you have no one to catch the freakn ball. I don't understand your argument. Manning had E. James running and now Abdai who is a great back...then he had two pro bowl wr's, not to mention a great TE as well. He had all the weapons...Brady took scraps and turned them into weapons. You have to be crazy to think the Pats would have won anything with anyone else at the QB. Throw in a depleted O-line over the years, (except for the last two I would say) and you get some amazing results from Brady. Tom Brady has been doing what Manning is doing now for years, so I would call it even. Except, Tom gets the nod, because he had two more rings than Manning.

I wouldn't say that Manning is nothing without receivers. He is a very good QB. Tonight's game is not a great example of how good he is, though. He threw 3 TD's against a team that was 3-7 coming in to the game...not a huge accomplishment for a top QB.
You really have to look to the stats, unfortunately.
This season to date:
QB rating
Brady 134.0 (1st)
Manning 87.2 (16th)
Completion percentage
Brady 74% (250/338) (1st)
Manning 62.8% (218/347) (16th)
Passing Yards
Brady 3,059 (2nd)
Manning 2,821 (5th)
TD's
Brady 38 (1st)
Manning 19 (6th) ...though currently holds the single season record
Historically, Brady has lead the team to more championships than Manning. Manning's career to date QB rating is 94.0 to Brady's 92.9. What if Brady had Moss in addition to Deion Branch as opposed to Reche Caldwell?
I think the big thing on Brady's side is that he wants the team to win, but he wants them to win as a team. He takes the blame for the failures and gives credit where it is due.
I don't know that this question can be truly answered. A whole lot of 'What ifs' can be asked, but know one can truly know for sure. A great quarterback works with what he has. Both Brady and Manning do this well. Manning has historically had an overall better, and more consistant receiving corps than has Brady, yet Brady has won three championships by spreading the ball around to those he had available to him.

i think if the question is who is better- you'd have to go with Tom Brady.
The comparison between the two wasn't even relevant until Manning finally won a ring last year. It's not really fair to say that it was the defense and the running game that won games for Brady because Brady has shown his saavy to lead late game winning drives in the playoffs in the past. Manning had yet to deliver in the playoffs until last year and remember it was during the playoffs last year where Indy's defense went nuts. It's arguable that Indy's defense this year is just as good as New England's so Manning is up on that one.
The only way for Peyton to be considered as good as Brady is for him to beat Tom in the AFC championship and win another ring. Seemingly New England is on there way to their fourth ring- which would put Brady in a different class than Peyton.
Like the two of them- who have a lot of mutual respect for one another they're both great QB(s) but i'd have to put Brady just slightly above Manning right now.
Do keep in mind that Manning threw 6 ints earlier this year and Brady may not throw that many this year. This year hands down it's Brady-the past based on Superbowls it's Brady. But the two are 1 and 1a... if you know what i mean.

Manning put up his numbers right away he had the talent around him coming in ,it was just a matter of getting the Chemistry right. they had to do what the Pats are doing now put up alot of Points becausetheir defense wasnt as good
Where Brady he has depended on more of a all around team game the Pats Defense kept them in games so Brady could have those last minute game winning drives
Now the Pats Defense is getting rewarded now with a high powered offense
i think both Quarterbacks have their strength and
Weaknesses also both Quarterbacks are great
And it wouldnt surprise me if they walked into the Hall of Fame on the same ticket
Peyton is experiencing what Brady had been going thru for years yes but now like Brady , Indy had the Defense to keep them in games .
I am a Pats Fan and i love this rivalry , and once they both retire it'll probly extinguish the rivalry but im enjoying now

It really depends on who you like lol
Manning's offense is shaky if he doesn't know exactly where your going to be. If he doesn't have the precise route runners or receivers that know him that gets exposed. It's timing, and new WRs will always struggle with where Peyton wants them to be. The infamous Ty Law rule was basically passed because physical corners could disrupt Peytons receivers and wreck the timed routes. Hes elite but not infallible. His offense has switched over the years and now uses the rushing attack. Now the defense and rushing game are winning Peyton more games. When he has to pass, and the receivers he's groomed are covered well, or injured, he's human again. But he hasn't forgotten how to pass.
Brady did showcase rushing games and great defense earlier. It's ironically starting to flip. Now that he has weapons, maybe greater wide outs (at least depth wise (yes salary cap issues)) than Manning had at any given time, The running game has taken a backseat. Timing and precise routes are important with Brady as well, but, he gets you the ball. Instincts are better because he cut his teeth off no name wide outs for years. Brady is elite, and not infallible. Even better the Ty Law rule strengthens New England's passing attack now.
It's been interesting to watch, especially to watch them flip over the years, surely unintentionally. They are both the best at what they do, and how they do it. Stats mean nothing when it comes down to it, Brady has won his championships, Peyton got his. Peyton has his records, Brady is on his way to his. Neither is better. See them both in Canton and enjoy them while you can.

No QB is going to be able to put up big numbers without talented WR's, TE's and RB's. Brady is going to warp the image as he has 3 top notch WR's as in Moss, Welker and Stalworth with Waton at TE and Maroney or Faulk out of the backfield. This team spread them out and it is really hard to double team anyone as there will be a quality player open for good yardage and what happens is 1-1 makes Moss a deep threat over the top or Welker and underneath threat.
Manning has the same but if you have a banged up line that now Manning is getting no time to throw or measure up his options like he normally does he is going to have a higher number of incompletions and INT's.
Seriously if Brady had Moss out and two of their top OL players out the Pats would have lost a couple of games because those are major losses and to loose your top DL as well is and added hit to Indy and lets pop one off the Pats same results.
The thing you have to say is any QB who has all the weapons from start to finish is going to have a better year even if they are good or not as if they go through preseason and work it out and learn each others weaknesses and strengths, unlike now where its on the fly and you have to hope that a a back up can slide in Harrisons role, yeah right.
So Manning is having a down year, only way to say he is slipping is to see if it lasts and that will be said when people get healthy and if Manning cant adjust to his new WR's as the more he plays with them the better he can learn how they run their routes as well as they learn from Manning of what he wants from them.
I agree SB victories are a team not a QB, look at the Ravens Super Bowl win, are you telling me Dilfer was better than Marino???? Wake up people, any wins in the NFL are a team effort with the need for health and sometimes luck. Stop with the SB victories make a player better than the other, always have to see what a team has and their strengths before say stuff like that, but Brady in Oakland or Miami dont think so and if New England doesnt get Moss, Stallworth or Welker are they undefeated and best in the NFL?

You'd be hard pressed to prove Brady never had great numbers in the past.
In 2005 Brady led the league in passing yards, 3rd in touchdowns, 6th in passer rating.
In 2004 Brady was 10th in yards, 6th in touchdowns and 9th in passer rating.
In 2003 Brady was 6th in passing yards, tied for 7th in touchdowns, 10th in passer rating.
In 2002 Brady was 6th in passing yards, 1st in touchdowns and 9th in passer rating.
This year, Manning is 5th in passing yards, 6th in touchdowns and 8th in passer rating through 11 games.
Without a standout reciever (harriosn did play 5 games this year), Manning's stats this year are very comparable to Brady's career when he had no standout reciever.
However, compare Brady's stats this year, now when he has weapons, to Mannings career when he had Harrison and Wayne.
As far as the running game and defense winning it for the Pats, from 2001-2006 the colts gained more rushing yards then the Pats 4 out of 6 years. Going by points allowed, the Pats allowed fewer points per game 4 out of 6 years. It would be my opinion that the rushing and defense arguement washes.
Who would I like more on my team? Both are outstanding talents who will likely have HoF careers. Brady would be my pick, for the reason I think he'll have more championships then Manning will, and championship wins are why they play the game. If the roles where reversed and Manning won more Suber bowls, I'd take him.

brady put up numbers before this year, in 2005 he led the league in pass yardage... and he's always had around a 90 passer rating... the patriots won 3 superbowls before this year, so they had to be doing something right in the passing game... brady's numbers were always good, just not as good as manning's... brady's strength was cool under pressure and consistently excellent in big games (12-2 overall in playoffs)
brady and manning have revolutionized the game, they have shown that a good qb with a top receiver is an unstoppable combination... they are models for all future QBs and i think the league is going to continue to be more and more pass oriented because of what they have shown... especially now that most fields are artificial, it favors the passing game... i think both brady and manning will go down in history with montana as the top 3 QBs of the modern era...
as for who is better, i am a brady fan, so obviously i think he is, i wouldnt trade him for manning straight up, i admire brady's calmness under pressure...
