Single digit in the crucial Iowa and NH polls, about 13-15% in the national polls. It's too bad because he wears well and has some good positions on state's rights and civil liberties.

Not surprisingly, he is slipping in the polls a bit. While he was the "mystery man" of the GOP, interest was high. But people are starting to learn more about him, and not everyone is excited as they used to be. That's not to say he doesn't have a chance, but candidates are like new toys. Once the novelty has worn off, not every kid continues to play with them.

Fred Thompson is not one of the favorites in the race for the Presidency because voters could not have been convinced of his stance on critical issues.
