i would finish the one they started...but never really thought about the pencil thing till u said something....i think i will start carring my own...lol...lol....great great question

Why would you assume they are stumped? Perhaps they left off just because they were finnished going to the bathroom?
Some people are very pickly about crossword or sudoku puzzles. They don't like anyone else using their book. Others don't care. How do you think your friend feels about this kind of stuff.
In theory, you would be using the pencil before say using the toilet paper, so using the same pencil should be fine - if you are in the habit of putting it in your mouth, however, I would refrain from that.

Neither...first you don't know if they got stumped or just got finished.
And would you pick up a crossword book in the livingroom and help yourself to that without asking first?
That would be very rude. Let me say it another way...if you finished my crossword in my bathroom you would never use it again. I would think that you are going through the medicine cabinet too.

About the pencil thing.... they should be using it while they are dropping the "duece" not after, right? No fecal matter should come into contact with it unless the are doing unspeakable things.

no it is not gross to use the same pencil, but it is rude to do someone else's puzzle without permission.

nope, no such thing as a poop pencil. but yes its rude to finish a puzzle that i would have started, plus i know it is you finishing it

i would most definitely finish the puzzle... but not correctly. because i'd be going #2 at a friend's house, i would probably put demeaning things in the squares just to be a dick..

hahahaha! I wouldn't bother any of their items in the bathroom. People tendto be really protective of bathroom contents...AND unfinished crosswords...BUT it would be kinda gross to use the same writing utensil.
