I had a grumpy night in Single and Dating, I really don't know why I still go in there! I get irritated by the "How can I tell if (s)he likes me?" questions and the "How can I tell him I like him, without telling him I like him?" questions. And I wasn't too bad, but I did a bit of "Oh grow up" answers, and yesterday I found I had my account suspended (those ruddy litigious yanks!) So I told Y!A I'd be a good boy and not bait the American teenagers any more and low and behold, me and my 8400 points are back in action!

Anyone else been through that?

I was just nice about it. I have previously ranted after the odd violation and that never got me anywhere, and when I checked old questions about suspension, the common answer was to ask nicely and repent, which is what I did.

I didn't think it warranted suspension either. Or violation, as it was just my opinion. OK I wasn't bum licking nice, and it was tough love, but what I said I meant. I did tell one girl not to go near guns, ans I thought the first thing she would do would be to shoot herself in the foot, since she was doing such a wonderful job of wrecking her chances with a boy.

Congratulations on your reinstatement! Good to see you back. This is a lesson for all of us and I too will try and keep away from Singles & Dating when I'm feeling waspish.

Been there, done that. I had my account suspended for a different reason: I posted a link to a gambling website in response to a question asking "If you had to get a tattoo on your forehead, what would it be?"

I didn't promise I would be a "good boy," I said they were being overly-cautious, that the suspension was uncalled for, and I posted a link to a news story about a woman who was paid $10,000 to get the URL I posted as a tattoo on her forehead.

Maybe you could get a violation but suspended???? That was just a harmless opinion.
