I set the resolution to the 640*480. but still i couldn't play. it plays like a image slideshow.
My system is:
CPU: AMD 3000+
graphic: NVIDIA GFORCE FX 5200
RAM: 1.5 GB
Please help if you can

dude, although you have gigantic size ram (1,5gb) your graphic card is far far too slow. you cant play new games with geforce fx5200... the solution is only 1.... get a new graphic card...
better to have at least middle range card (geforce 8600gt or radeon 2600XT)....
but since you only have agp card (fx5200 use agp interface), then your choice is limited to geforce 7900 agp (cost about US$200) or geforce 7600gt or radeon x1650 agp (each cost about US$100-130)......

Using 16 bit color instead of 32bit might slightly help.
Your graphics card is really slow and outdated. Get a better one.
Here are some options:
Cheap: 7300GS AGP, 7300GT AGP, ATI HD2400 Pro AGP
Better: 7600GT AGP or ATI X1950 Pro AGP.

i am not sure but i thing that need for speed pro needs a graphic memory ditcdated so what you really need is a vga that nvidia or ati to run the game or duble check the rams you have ..... because most of the problems comes from the memoryes
