danceswithwolves...... I have yet to feel someones empathy with me......
as for me being empathic.....i have often underestimated what real Empathy is, and as one answerer has said....it depends on how much a person opens their world up......and if they do i can usually feel very empathic, to have empathy i think is a skill....and i want to become skilled !

its very hard sometimes to deal with in the job that i do and you have to detach yourself a bit to remain professional

Yes I am empathic. Sometimes to the point that my family will laugh at me when I cry over something, bad news on t.v., pets that have died. If a friend or loved one cries I can't keep from crying and sometimes I'm afraid that's the wrong thing to do.
For some reason I don't think I have ever felt anyone Else's empathy towards me. I don't know what my problem is with this.

Empathy can be both under and over rated. Its as much the person you're talking to as anything else as to whether you can empathise with them or not. Some of my best friends i can be moved to tears with in a simple conversation, but others just don't want to let you in.

Very empathic. I can't feel anybody's pain, but I understand it. People have teased me in the past for empathizing with what the world calls 'losers'. I don't see losers...I just see people....people who may have gotten lost along the way...no matter WHAT they have done in their lives. I tend to get burned a lot...that is why many people just call me stupid. But I always think....if I can only make a difference in one person's life....

I'm VERY empathic. I care more about other people's emotions then I do my own. I can always tell what others are feeling just by seeing or listening to them.

Sort of i am emotinal intelagent i can feel other people fellings the has even been times where i was sure that i was someone else going through there pain as if it was me. i find this help me listen to other people probelms becuse i can feel how they are. But when i am on my own and i think about my gf i can feel her happynes and her pain.

Yes, but i understand what you mean, i think it depends how much i have on my mind at the time. Sometimes, it is hard to understand someones pain unless you have been there. I believe the same is true for the joy as well.

I wish I could change, but I'm almost completely void of empathy. Well, I guess that's not true, because that would make me a sociopath, and I'm not THAT bad.

I can and do, but I've never felt anyones empathy for me.
Now that you mention it, I've never thought of it before. I don't think anyone has ever cried for me before. They've cried about me, but never for me.
I don't really know how my actions affect people's feelings. I hope they help them.

As long as I really value that person and care about them, otherwise I won't care enough to feel their pain, or be happy for them.
