It's hard to accept reality because if we did most of us would become depressed or stop caring about what happens in life, commiting crime, etc. Why do most people behave well in life? Because if they don't a magical man in the sky will get mad at them, I'm not saying there isn't a god, I'm saying if there is, and he created and therefore understands human beings, then he wouldn't get mad at you for doubting him or making mistakes. People think that all life is precious, but they won't accept the reality of death because they want to believe that their loved ones are "alive" somewhere else, therefore comforting them. I myself believe that there probably isn't a god, I should live a happy life, if I die and there is, and its most gods, I can just be forgiven. if it turns out the Hindu religion or something is right, I'm screwed over in the first place so I should just enjoy life. That's my rationalization, almost as important as my life. There are different ways people deal with fear, some deny it, some live in it, some simply face it. That is the key to people not wanting to accept reality, accepting reality is accepting fear. It's not human nature, it's human psychology, the way we have lived for all these years has made us this way. If you do accept reality then I applaud you, but people simply prefer to live in blissful ignorance. Hell, I wish I could. So in short, yes, a world where you live for 110 years tops and have your existence completely obliterated without any magical man giving you presents in the end with your friends waiting on the other side, or simply a world where you work at McDonalds and won't be the CEO in five years isn't good enough for most people. Even though that actually wasnt that short of an answer.

People may differ on their perceptions of what reality is. But there are some realities that are beyond just perception. These are usually the ones that people find the hardest to accept and the most difficult to change or do any thing about. There is the reality that there are people dying of hunger as I write this, but what can I do about it even though I can perceive it needs change and shouldn't be happening. There are children being killed by soldiers in Palestine and many other counties that are torn apart by war and politics, I can't stop it, but I accept it is a reality. I am appalled by the fact that an 18 yr old girl who was gang raped will likely die though being given 200 lashes of the whip by a government who believes in the same God as I, but what can I do about it? I am satisfied that I do all that I can to assist those I can. My life experience has taught me many things and one is to change the things that I can in life but to accept the things that I can't. Sometimes this is the hardest reality of them all.

Some people don't accept reality, because...well they can't handle the truth. It is much easier for them to accept their fantasy world. They like living in dreams whether then facing the facts. Most people who are like this usually have something bad happening in their life that they don't want to face or accept. You can help them face reality by confronting them about their problem(s) they are facing and talking them through it. Help them out and show them that life does go on, and if they hit rock bottom...well they can only go up from there. I didn't really understand the concept of your question, but I hope this helps somebody.

You seem to be using the word "reality" in an unusual way. That's okay, except that it makes it hard for me to understand what you are asking.
It appears that you are saying that people are narrow-minded and don't accept other people's views. In my opinion, it's partly because of the way we educate our children. They are taught to be passive and compliant, and to memorize "facts." They are given tests in which there is only one right answer. Also we are all exposed to much religious, moral, and political propaganda, and too rarely challenged to think deeply.
I assume you feel you have overcome this to a certain degree, and that you are now more open-minded and flexible in your thinking. If so, I wonder how you accomplished this. Never mind, that's a question, and I'm supposed to be the answerer :)

human can't accept what will gonna hurt to them. they can't change easily humans are emotional and because of that they created a world where they can be happy, smile, cry, be sad etc.... but because of that reality is not needed for their world after all humans create their own rule their own will and own delusion , A world that full of ideals. HUMANS CAN'T ACCEPT REALITY BECAUSE THEY ARE SATISFIED OF BEING CONSUME BY THE EVILNESS OF THIS WORLD. they are distracted in fantasy, a happiness that humans can only have in fake world.

Reality can be a harsh teacher. Many don't want to learn the lessons it teaches them. I had to come to the point where I literally planned and thought about suicide before I came to my senses and realized there was no big guy in the sky that cares about me and that the only one capable of taking care of me, was ME!! + A few close friends and relatives. What was that old Beatles song? "I'll get by with a little help from my friends."
