i think the lakers should make a trade like this (not this one but something like it)

we all no lamar is there second best player but if we trade his and rod mans big contract for an expireing one like this
kwames contract would expire giving the laker 30 million dollars to spend on the 08 free agents

we could get 3 allstars to playwith kobe like
JO and agent 0 or something like that

the lakers will have to give up on this season but i think it would be worth it for the future\

what do u think

Hey Jake,

First i think that a trade of this type would require Kobe to commit to staying when he can opt out. Stephon Marbury definitely is not a good mix with Kobe and being that the Lakers are off to such a surprising start- you can't just throw in the towel on the season. Perhaps a strong season will convince Kobe that they are one player away - and Rumorville right now is that J. Kidd's days in NJ may be numbered. I mean why not trade for J. O'Neal now??

i think it's a big risk and once again you need to guarantee that Kobe will stay (are all the fences mended) who knows how much that played in KG not coming to L.A.

i definitely would love to get rid of Kwame and his expiring contract, and agree that Lamar is not the #2 to Kobe that he should be- but you need to get an All-Star caliber player (and sorry - but Stephon Marbury isn't it).

Kobe by himself is good enough to keep us from ever tanking a season... i mean if we're going to tank it we might as well position ourselves to get a high draft pick like a Michael Beasley... but if we were to do something of the sort- i doubt Kobe would stay...

Go Lakers!!!

Well, I sure hope the Lakers do not make a trade like this.
Marbury and his ongoing issues with his coach, Isiah Thomas, in New York isn't at all appealing nor attractive.

I think I see where you're going at. I hope the Lakers do something to help Kobe out. I mean, Lamar is a good player and I would prefer not to trade him, but if the circumstances call for it and Odom can only be traded to bring in an All-Star to Los Angeles, then I'm all for it.
I long to see another '04 Lakers team with a quad of big names (Shaq, Kobe, Malone, Payton). Maybe then, they'll have a shot at winning the championship.

The last thing you need is Marbury and Kobe on the same team
