A Riddle-
Q: How do you know that nobody with the Federal government planned the Kennedy assassination?
A: Because it worked (or, Because he's dead).
=========================
As intriguing as it may be, the evidence is overwhelming that Oswald worked alone. If there was any conspiracy it was that Oswald had some rich/powerful sugar daddies who funded his travel, but nothing says they were CIA or mafia related. Stories that Jack Ruby was a major player in the mafia have been totally shot down (he was a strip bar owner who loved to talk big and had a long history of erratic behavior and desperately trying to be famous), it's been proven umpteen times that a moderately skilled rifleman could make the shots required in the time required and that there really was no "magic bullet", and that it wasn't even that terribly uncommon for people to defect to Russia and return (Oswald was far from the only one). As for the precautions not taken that day, well... that's just a snafu and they happen; had there been no assassination attempt that day nobody ever would have said "Why wasn't the bubble top on?"
OTOH, if there was a conspiracy it's doubtful we'll ever know who was involved and there's no way you could prove it. So, Occam's Razor and all, let's say it was Oswald and concentrate on government mysteries or cover-ups that are going on now.

I will always believe that the Mafia had JFK killed, since Joseph, Kennedy's father, had gotten a major mob boss to support JFK's election in Chicago. (Old man Kennedy made all his money in the Prohibition days with Scotch and had to have worked with the mob in order to do so.) Then when JFK appointed Bobby as the Attorney General, he went after the mob BIG TIME. The mob bosses took offense to that, and made connections with Oswald in Mexico City to kill JFK, seeing Bobby's vendetta against the mob as back-stabbing those who got JFK elected in the first place.

No. Basically because there are too many of them.
The second reason is that the real cause doesn't make a good enough story. JFK the liberal hero killed by a leftist?

Yes, as Oliver Stone wrote in his movie. "That is an awfully smart bullet to make a right hand turn like that." I don't know who was behind his killing, but there was more than one shooter.
